10:13 am - "One more scar to wish upon...." Wow.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Don't leave me hanging, Sagittarius. What happens next? How could you even imagine you've wrapped the whole thing up? According to my analysis, you've got at least one more riddle to solve, one more gift to negotiate, one more scar to wish upon. (Yes, that says "scar," not "star.") To stop pushing for more adventure at this pregnant moment would be a crime against nature and a whole chapter short of a bestseller. Get out there and bring this story home.

Two in a row for Rob, here.

And yes. I know. Working it. :)

07:50 pm - Oh this is sweet!
Rob Brezsny does it again. Oh man, this is delicious:
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): While appearing on the TV show "I'm a
Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here," ex-pro basketball player John Salley gave some advice I'd like to pass along.
"When you see crazy coming your way," he philosophized, "you should cross the street." I do think crazy will be headed in your direction sometime soon, Sagittarius, and the best response you can make is to avoid it altogether, preferably in a way that it doesn't notice you. That's right: Don't shout at crazy, don't bolt away ostentatiously, and certainly don't run up and give crazy a big hug. There are far better ways for you to gather in your fair share of intriguing mystery; I'd hate to see you get bogged down in a useless, inferior version of it.

For the record, I have NO IDEA what this is about. But now I'm curious as all hell to see. :-D

No camping this weekend, Scooby overheated 1 mile into the 8 mile trek up the side of that mountain. M & I are both bummed. My bumm-itude is somewhat mitigated by having gotten my first real live customer call for X-Stitch Xpress!

Wow... now I've really got to get that inventory together! Eeep!

10:00 am - Brezsny again
I had girlhood dreams of being an archeologist/paleontologist... and have an adult appreciation of metaphor, of course!
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Metaphorically speaking, Sagittarius, you have unearthed or are about to unearth a rare fossil. I think it's a pretty sensational discovery. It's a missing link that could help you make sense out of episodes in your past that have always mystified or frustrated you. I urge you to learn all you can about this fossil. Follow every lead it points to. And ask your intuition to run wild and free as it dreams up possible interpretations to its multiple meanings.

I'm actively looking for this one, btw. There are several "episodes in [my] past that have always mystified or frustrated" me. Finding the missing link that will explain them (and thus hopefully put them to rest) would be... heavenly. Miraculous. Etc. ;)

02:52 pm - StoogeFu -- pie fights!
From Brezsny's Freewill Astrology this week.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Of the 190 short films the Three
Stooges made for Columbia Pictures, only five actually had pie fights.
However, those classic scenes sum up all there is to know about the
mythic meaning of pie fights, as well as the needs they address and the
techniques involved. I urge you to study up on the Stooges' teachings
concerning these matters -- and put them to immediate use. Nothing
could be more effective in dealing with stalled negotiations, convoluted
mind games, superficial exchanges, excessive gravity, and bureaucratic
slowdowns than a righteous pie fight. You can find a Youtube clip of a
Three Stooges pie fight here: http://tinyurl.com/yvv8hm.

Like I needed this? I have enough trouble taking crap like that seriously... *grin* w0ot!

08:45 am - Words to live by
How would I know? It's basically how I've lived my adult life, that's how.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): In her book One Continuous Mistake, Gail Sher provides excellent advice for people who want to be writers. I'm offering it to you for your all-purpose use as you enter the Reinvent Yourself phase of your astrological cycle. The drive for perfection can be a distraction, Sher says. What's more useful is to be brave and free enough to experiment with possibilities that may or may not pan out. Don't think yourself into a corner, agonizing about where to begin. Simply dive in and get to work, trusting that the agitation you churn up will show you what works. Exult in the revelations provided by the trial-and-error approach! "We learn nothing from our successes," writes Sher, "which prescribe business-as-usual. We learn everything from our mistakes, which require us to analyze where we went wrong and invent fresh strategies."

So, this is nothing new overall. Yes I've learned a buttload from past mistakes and continue to do so. Yes I'm Reinventing Myself one more time -- but honestly, when are we NOT reinventing ourselves? I posit that we are always reinventing ourselves. The key seems to be how far one can stretch into a new iteration of oneself. You shed the stuff that doesn't work for you and take the stuff along that does. You try more stuff along the way, looking for what works, ditching what doesn't. It never stops, it can't. Life is not static, nothing is forever. Everything changes, relentlessly.

That pisses a lot of people off. I happen to like it. :)

11:56 am - Brezsny's for Sagittarius
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Medical insurance is out of reach for 46 million of my fellow Americans. Our country is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as with a ghostly omnipresent foe known as terrorism. Our national debt is stupendous, our stock market has plunged, and many companies once thought to be towers of strength have failed. Meanwhile, right next door, Canada has universal healthcare and a budget surplus. Its banks are solvent and it's embroiled in zero wars. Am I jealous? Of course. Am I planning to emigrate? No. I'm going to stay here and keep agitating for goodness and justice and beauty. After evaluating your astrological omens, Sagittarius, I suggest that you do the equivalent in your own life: Stand your ground as you work to fix the flawed situation you've been given; don't flee to where the grass seems greener. Halloween costume suggestions: an elder statesman, wise crone, or charismatic teacher.

It's good advice, because Sag's are really good at devising reasons to romp over to see what's on the other side of the fence, greener grass and all. :)

As for the costume ideas... =heh=

04:46 pm - This is sweet.

For anyone who knew me during my inner battles with my belief that I was a failure 18 months/2 years ago or so (Norse/Mayan mythos crossover, featuring a 13 day crucifixion that wasn't as metaphorical as it should have been), You'll love this. It's music to my ears. A sight for sore eyes. A healing balm to the soul.

Ah, you get it. ;)
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Michelangelo never finished two-thirds of the sculptures he started. Basketball mega-star Michael Jordan failed on 26 different occasions when he was given the ball to try the game-winning shot as time ran out. Of Bob Dylan's 57 albums, maybe only 15 of them are masterpieces. I bring these facts to your attention, Sagittarius, in the hope that they will give you some perspective on the down times in your own track record. More importantly, I want to let you know that in the coming weeks you should have access to the kind of energy that Michelangelo, Jordan, and Dylan had when they were creating their legends.

By God, it had to happen eventually. =)

06:05 pm - Rob has me bemused again.

From Breszny's Freewill Astrology this week:
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): It's like you've stumbled upon the
Cosmic Lost and Found Office, Sagittarius. Whether or not it happened
"by mistake" is irrelevant: It's an opportunity to recover good stuff that
prematurely disappeared from your life. But keep in mind that your
valuables may be mixed in with abandoned and forgotten junk, both yours
and other people's. You might initially feel discouraged at the prospect of
having to wade through all that meaningless dross in order to locate your
treasures. Don't give up. Your diligence will ultimately be rewarded.

Some musings about that here. Not for you if you think personal evolution is stupid. )
Okay, that quite honestly scares the bejesus out of me -- which means it must be time.

*sigh* And here I was enjoying the peace and quiet...
